In order to raise the profile of Portuguese wines abroad, Wines of Portugal will organize a series of international tastings in North America, with the aim of creating new business opportunities for Portuguese producers.
The events kick off in the United States, with tastings in Orlando on April 15 at The Balcony, and in New York on April 17 at Ideal Glass Studios. These events are primarily aimed at producers with distribution in the local market and will be organized in two distinct phases: one dedicated to industry professionals, including distributors, importers, retailers, sommeliers, F&B managers, and specialized media outlets, and another geared toward the end consumer. The Orlando tasting is expected to draw around 100 professionals and 200 consumers, while in New York, 200 professionals and 300 consumers are anticipated.
The event program includes a variety of activities, notably a seminar featuring a wine tasting aimed at trade professionals. In addition, a partnership will be established with the wine.com platform to encourage the purchase of Portuguese wines.
Following the tastings in the U.S., Vinhos de Portugal is heading to Canada for two more major tastings: in Toronto on April 20 at the Steam Whistle Brewery, and in Montreal on April 22 at the Centre des Sciences de Montréal. Similar to the initiatives in the U.S., these events aim to promote Portuguese wines to both professionals and consumers, helping to strengthen their reputation in this market.
The tastings in Canada will be aimed at private agents, Liquor Board teams, sommeliers, restaurant owners, and specialized media, as well as consumers, with 200 professionals and 225 consumers expected to attend.
The program also includes a seminar with wine tastings for industry professionals, reinforcing the educational component and promoting Portuguese wines to strategic audiences.

With this initiative, Wines of Portugal reinforces its commitment to strengthening the visibility and competitiveness of Portuguese wines in major international markets by fostering direct contact between Portuguese producers and importers, distributors, journalists, and opinion leaders from around the world.
