Wines of Portugal Strengthen Market Positioning in Luanda

Jul 01, 2013

Wines of Portugal is organizing a wine tasting in the Palmeiras Club of Luanda, next Tuesday, July 2nd at 4:30pm, to portray its success. The tasting will host about 80 winemakers who will showcase their own wines and will feature a seminar by Luis Pato. Luís Pato will talk about the diversity and quality of Portuguese wines.

About 600 guests will attend the wine tasting. The guests will mainly include members of the wine trade - importers and distributors – one of the most important targets in Angola to help strengthen the position of the Portuguese wine market.

Portuguese wines have a great reputation in the premium and super premium Angolan market which has led to a significant growth and continuous increase in sales. In 2012 67,791,900 liters of wine were sold, which means 77,847 million euros, a 16.8% increase in sales.

With an investment of 340,000 euros in Angola, ViniPortugal aims to capitalize the 19% expected growth for Portuguese wines by 2014.

In addition to the tasting, Viniportugal will also organize a Wine Party in November to promote wine by the glass consumption and to help associate Portuguese wines with leisurely activities.
