Pêra Manca wine from Fundação Eugénio de Almeida is enough to put the estate in the highest league. However, it is not just this wine for which Fundação Eugénio de Almeida is known, as the winery – which is a charity foundation – also boasts the production of Cartuxa.

This wine has been baptised in honour of the Santa Maria Scala Coeli monastery, better known as Cartuxa Monastery, where ten monks of the Cartuxa order still live in solitude, contemplation and meditation. It is under the patronage of this establishment that Cartuxa wines have been born, steeped in heritage and producing traditional wines from a long and old ancestry.
