F&W Classic in Aspen Event Details

The Food & Wine Classic in Aspen celebrated its 34th year as America’s premier culinary event June 17-19, 2016. The event consists of three incomparable days of cooking demonstrations, wine tastings and panel discussions by world-class chefs and wine experts. Following the success of the previous three years of participation in the Food & Wine Classic, Wines of Portugal returned for a 4th year with an extremely large footprint at the festival incorporating brand-new, eye-catching branded signage and table overlays that set Wines of Portugal apart as a world of difference. Wines of Portugal’s participation allowed the promotion of Portuguese wines in a large, up-scale consumer event that delivered a truly unique Portuguese experience to attendees. 44 wines from 10 producers were featured at five Grand Tastings and three Private Trade Grand Tastings taking place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, alongside Jamón Ibérico and Portuguese cheeses served by Chef George Mendes. Additionally, Wines of Portugal had a full house at an exclusive, invite-only #PortugalRocks sommelier dinner hosted by Wines of Portugal US Ambassador Eugenio Jardim, which featured 10 wines from the producers represented at the festival. As a new addition to this year’s presence at F&W Classic, the event was amplified with enhanced digital and social media activations, including a social media takeover program by wine blogger Alyssa Vitrano aka @Grapefriend, and surpassed the goal of increasing engagement by 30% with over 19,000+ impressions on Facebook, 205,170 impressions on Twitter with an average of 1,700 impressions per post, and and average of 45 likes per post on Instagram
